On September 20, 2026 Alibaba released the weights of Qwen-Image-2.1: a 7-billion-parameter model that generates and edits images in one flow, with native transparency (RGBA) and editing with up to 10 reference images. It ranks first among open models, ahead of Nano Banana 2.0.
