Claude launches up to 1,000 agents: dynamic workflows, limits and cost
Claude can launch up to 1,000 agents in one run with Managed Agents dynamic workflows. Limits of 64 at once, 24 hours and what it costs.
Claude 1,000 agents is the short way to say that Claude can now launch up to 1,000 agents in a single run. On October 9, 2026, Anthropic opened dynamic workflows for Claude Managed Agents in beta: the agent writes a program that runs many agents in phases and collects what each one returns.

What are Managed Agents dynamic workflows
You ask Claude for one thing and it builds the plan and hands the work out to many agents. Big jobs are no longer split by hand: they are delegated. The official example is reviewing hundreds of documents; everything else is our own take on it.
The three limits that matter
- 64 agents at once: up to 64 agents working at the same time. The docs themselves say this limit is not guaranteed and may change.
- 1,000 agents in total: up to 1,000 agents over the life of a run.
- 24 hours: a run lives 24 hours by default and works in the background.
What it costs
A run has no price of its own: you pay the tokens each agent uses, at its model's rate. There is no extra charge for launching many agents, but every agent spends tokens, so a big run can add up. It is wise to test with a small batch before launching a huge one.
Heads up on the fine print
- It is beta.
- It works through the Managed Agents API with the
managed-agents-2026-04-01header. - The limit of 64 simultaneous agents may change.
How to apply it in your business?
These ideas are WAiBOT suggestions, not official Anthropic examples:
- Pick a pile of documents you open one by one today: contracts, invoices, tickets or reports.
- Split the work into phases: first classify, then extract data, finally summarize.
- Run a small batch and check the token cost before scaling.
- Verify the results with a sample, because the run collects what each agent returns.
